Barangay Captain Delia Tingas of Barangay Basag in Butuan City has admitted that she was instrumental in convincing suspect Dondon Acedo to confess to the rape and murder of a 7-year-old child.

She revealed that she persuaded Acedo to tell the truth by telling him that the only assistance she could offer was to help him potentially reduce his sentence, after he initially denied involvement.

In an exclusive interview with Bombo Radyo Butuan, Captain Tingas stated that her suspicion of Acedo grew stronger after she and two constituents found wet and mud-covered pants inside his residence during a search.

She then took the pants to individuals who had been drinking with the suspect, and they confirmed that he was wearing those pants during their drinking session on the night of the crime.

Further evidence included a t-shirt that had disappeared after being initially found near the crime scene, which was also confirmed to belong to the suspect.

When Acedo finally confessed to the crime, Captain Tingas said her heart broke with pain.
