Cadets from Australia’s Royal Military College-Duntroon (RMC-D) visited the Philippine Army’s Officer Candidate School (PA-OCS) as part of the 2024 Foreign Academy Exchange Program (FAEP) held at Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac, from August 31 to September 6, 2024.
A total of nine RMC-D cadets, accompanied by an Australian military officer, two warrant officers, and a non-commissioned officer, participated in a field training exercise alongside OCS officer candidates.
The Philippine Army, through the OCS, is scheduled to send its own OCS instructors and officer candidates to Australia in November 2024.
This year’s FAEP was one of the key activities agreed upon by the 2024 Philippines-Australia Defence Cooperation Working Group.
The program aims to foster lasting bonds and strengthen cooperation between the training institutions of the Philippine Army and the Australian Defence Force.
The Officer Candidate School is the Philippine Army’s premier training institution, offering a rigorous one-year Officer Candidate Course (OCC) for qualified baccalaureate degree holders aspiring to become Commissioned Second Lieutenants in the Army’s regular force.
