The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has released a statement regarding the temporary protection order (TPO) issued by the Davao City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 15.

According to the DILG, the issuance of the arrest warrant against Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his co-accused will continue as planned. DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos clarified that the TPO does not prohibit the serving of the arrest warrant against the fugitive pastor.

Abalos also noted that the Davao RTC did not order the Philippine National Police (PNP) to vacate the area. He assured that the DILG will respect the human rights of KOJC members and uphold the legal process.

The statement was made following the court’s ruling in favor of KOJC, which ordered the PNP to remove all barricades, barriers, or blockades that were preventing the entry of KOJC members. The court ruled that these obstacles were impeding the members’ rights to religious freedom and academic activities.

Abalos further clarified that the PNP’s barricades and operations within the KOJC compound do not pose a threat to the life, liberty, or security of KOJC members. He emphasized that the DILG is committed to upholding the integrity of the justice system and the rule of law in the country.
