Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo is alleged to have offered a ₱1 billion bribe to resolve her legal issues, according to former Senator Panfilo Lacson.

The revelation was made based on information provided by Lacson’s Filipino-Chinese businessman friend, who reportedly received the offer from Guo before she fled the Philippines in July.

It was further revealed by Lacson that, as the ex-mayor faced increasing pressure and attempted to go into hiding, she contacted the businessman through a mutual acquaintance.

Guo allegedly sought help in connecting with individuals close to the First Family, hoping they could intervene in her legal problems.

The businessman, described by Lacson as a prominent figure with dealings in China and connections to influential personalities linked to the Marcos family, reportedly declined the offer.

Lacson emphasized that the bribe was intended to help Guo with the legal charges filed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), not to facilitate her escape from the country.

To back up his claims, Lacson stated that his friend had shown photos of a meeting between him and Guo, which took place before the former mayor went into hiding.

The former senator clarified that his businessman friend had no business transactions with Guo and was not involved with Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

Lacson urged the intelligence community to thoroughly investigate Guo’s background and connections, warning that those linked to her could pose a serious national security threat.

This statement comes in the wake of a separate claim by Senator Risa Hontiveros, who revealed that her office had received information suggesting Guo had paid a ₱200 million bribe to officials to secure her escape from the country.
