The Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality, chaired by Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, has issued a subpoena compelling former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo to present records related to P1.1 billion in check disbursements from her account.

Senator Gatchalian revealed that Guo has been unable to provide a clear explanation for the disbursements made between 2018 and 2024, raising concerns over whether the funds were used for the construction of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) facilities.

During the hearing, Guo insisted that the money was used for the development of her farm.

However, she could not definitively clarify the source or allocation of the funds. Guo assured the committee that she would submit the requested records but stated that she could not respond further due to ongoing legal proceedings, including 87 counts of money laundering filed by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC).
