The Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced that dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo will be handcuffed and wearing a bulletproof vest during her appearance at the Senate tomorrow. This is in connection with the legislative investigation into illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

According to PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, Guo will be transported in a PNP coaster from Camp Crame in Quezon City at around 8 a.m., with the Senate hearing scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

The Tarlac court had previously approved the Senate’s request for Guo to attend the hearing. The Capas, Tarlac Regional Trial Court issued the warrant for Guo’s arrest following charges filed by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) under RA 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. She is currently detained at the PNP custodial facility.

Guo remains in the same detention room previously occupied by former senator Leila de Lima, as she has not posted bail for the charges against her.
