Camarines Sur police officer arrested in anti-drug operation as authorities seized shabu and firearms during a sting operation in Baao, Camarines Sur.
The PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 5 has taken custody of a police officer who was arrested during an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Provincial Intelligence Unit in Baao, Camarines Sur.
During a media briefing, Provincial Director PCol Virgilio Obia Olalia Jr. confirmed that the arrested officer is an active member of the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office.
According to Olalia, authorities had been closely monitoring the officer’s activities for some time and had built a case against him before the operation.
The operation was carried out by a joint force of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Regional Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group, and the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office.
Authorities recovered approximately 15 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P102,000 from the suspect.
Also seized were the officer’s driver’s license, e-wallet cards, PNP ID, service firearm with a magazine loaded with 16 live rounds, six .45 caliber live rounds, a grenade, and three mobile phones.

He added that he has long warned police officers in Camarines Sur to avoid involvement in illegal activities, as the internal cleansing of rogue officers remains ongoing.
The provincial director expressed hope that this incident would serve as a lesson to all police officers to uphold their duty with integrity.
The arrested officer is now facing criminal and administrative charges.
