Initial investigation revealed that PSSg O’Neal Ryan Calica had just arrived at the office and was brushing his teeth when PLT Jamieson Bulatao, Officer-in-Charge of PECU-Abra, came out of his room, loaded his firearm, and shot Calica four times in the left side of the chest.

Bulatao then pointed his gun at another officer, PSMS Edwin Bandoc, and fired but missed. Bandoc retaliated and shot Bulatao in the chest.

Both Calica and Bulatao were rushed to Seares Memorial Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

The Abra Provincial Police Office has launched a thorough investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting.
