Hollywood icon Angelina Jolie is set to make an Angelina Jolie Philippines visit as one of the featured speakers at the 2026 ASEAN Inclusive Growth Summit in Manila on November 11.
The Academy Award-winning actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian will join leaders and changemakers from business, government, civil society, and philanthropy to discuss opportunities, inclusion, and the future of economic growth across Southeast Asia.
Organizers said the summit will focus on how the region can transform economic challenges into opportunities and unlock the next wave of inclusive growth, bringing together influential voices from across ASEAN.
Jolie is widely recognized for her humanitarian work, particularly her advocacy for refugees, displaced communities, and the protection of women and children around the world.
She served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) from 2001 to 2012 before being appointed as Special Envoy, a role she held until 2022.
According to the summit organizers, Jolie will participate in a session titled “From Memory to Possibility: Cambodia, Courage and the Power of Staying,” alongside acclaimed Cambodian filmmaker Rithy Panh.
The discussion is expected to highlight Cambodia’s resilience and explore themes of trust, community-led solutions, and long-term social development, reflecting the humanitarian work both speakers have supported over the years.
Joining Jolie in the summit lineup are Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga, fashion designer Rajo Laurel, former Miss International Kylie Verzosa, and Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque.
Additional speakers and participants include business executives, policymakers, development leaders, and advocates who will tackle issues ranging from digital transformation and financial inclusion to tourism, small businesses, and artificial intelligence-driven growth.
The 2026 ASEAN Inclusive Growth Summit is being organized by the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth and is expected to serve as a key regional platform for discussions on creating a more resilient and inclusive economic future for Southeast Asia.
