Vice President Sara Duterte’s camp asserted that the defense has a prepared strategy to explain the Vice President’s net worth increase from 2007 to 2025, should it become necessary in an impeachment trial.
According to Atty. Michael Poa, the defense will have the opportunity to explain the changes in net worth, possibly through subsequent witnesses or their own evidence.
Poa clarified that the testimony of Ombudsman records officer Atty. Karen Batu was based solely on her personal experience and observations in her work.
He added that Batu was also careful in stating that she could not provide conclusions regarding the said matters.
Poa insisted that the defense has already considered how to explain the details stated in VP Duterte’s SALN, though he did not yet disclose their specific strategy.
Poa encouraged the public to await the defense’s turn in presenting their evidence, where they can explain the necessary details concerning the Vice President’s net worth.
