Senator Robin Padilla vehemently denied allegations that he “smuggled” Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa out of the Senate on May 14, an incident that occurred after Dela Rosa received a subpoena from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
During a press briefing held today, September 16, Padilla asserted that no such “smuggling” event took place, highlighting the visible presence of numerous police officers and active CCTV cameras throughout the area.
According to the senator, Dela Rosa simply rode in his vehicle, and no police officers reportedly obstructed their exit from the Senate premises.
Padilla further clarified his understanding, stating that his imagination of “smuggling” involves clandestine actions like running in the dark, whereas their actual departure was merely walking and therefore does not qualify as “smuggling.”
