According to the DOH, video calls with trusted partners are recommended while emphasizing the importance of safe interactions.

In addition to virtual sex, the DOH suggests that those with active sex lives should opt for “no-touch” or “self-pleasure” methods to reduce the risk of mpox transmission.

Before engaging in any sexual activity, the DOH advised ensuring that partners are healthy and free from any sores or rashes.

The agency also stressed the importance of maintaining a single sexual partner, as having multiple partners increases the risk of contracting mpox.
