PCO Sec. Garafil resigns, set to assume Taiwan diplomatic post

Atty. Cheloy Garafil has resigned as the Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

The resignation comes following her next assignment as head of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) in Taiwan.

The lady lawyer replaces former Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III at MECO.

Senior Undersecretary for Strategic Communications Cesar Chavez will temporarily take over her position at the PCO.

Before assuming her role as PCO Secretary, Atty. Garafil served as the chair of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and worked as a prosecutor at the Department of Justice under the administration of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
