An ocular inspection of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City is scheduled by the Senate on Friday, September 6. The inspection will be conducted alongside a hearing by the Senate Committees on Justice and Human Rights and Public Order and Dangerous Drugs regarding the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) operations at the KOJC compound.

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa had earlier appealed to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to address the concerns of Davao City residents affected by the enforcement of an arrest warrant against fugitive Apollo Quiboloy.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has also validated the ongoing operations of the PNP to serve the arrest warrant against Quiboloy, who remains at large.

The PNP and KOJC are currently involved in a standoff, following attempts to serve a warrant of arrest for Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the KOJC, who faces charges in both local and international courts.

Quiboloy has been accused of various crimes, including human trafficking and fraud.

The conflict has drawn significant attention due to the religious leader’s influence and following in Davao City, as well as concerns raised by local residents regarding the impact of the ongoing operations.
