MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Friday said Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) Commissioner Rosanna Fajardo has “already accomplished her tasks based on her mandate,” hours after she announced her resignation from the panel.

“Under the administration, we recognize the vital role played by ICI Commissioner Rosanna Fajardo in gathering, studying, and assessing crucial evidence to hold those involved in anomalous flood control projects accountable,” Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said in a statement.

Fajardo’s resignation comes weeks after former Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson stepped down, leaving ICI chairperson Andres Reyes Jr. as the only remaining member of the three-person panel.

Despite the departures, Castro assured that investigations into irregular flood control projects will continue. “The probe will proceed alongside other investigating bodies. The administration’s fight against corruption is far from over,” she said.

Malacañang has not yet indicated whether President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will appoint new members to replace Singson and Fajardo.
