The Department of Education (DepEd) has confirmed that the much-awaited salary increase for Filipino teachers will be implemented starting this September. This development follows the issuance of Executive Order 64 by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in August 2024.

During a budget hearing, Education Secretary Sonny Angara disclosed that the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has instructed government agencies to utilize their savings to expedite the salary adjustment and that these funds will be replenished later.

The salary increase, which includes retroactive pay from January to August 2024, will be provided to teachers nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Region 7 (Central Visayas), Region 10 (Northern Mindanao), and Region 11 (Davao Region) have initiated the partial release of their Notice of Official Salary Adjustment (NOSA).
