Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin denied reports claiming he had resigned from his post.

He stressed that the circulating news was baseless and said he had no knowledge of where the speculation originated.

Rumors spread suggesting Bersamin would be replaced by Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, while Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick Go would assume the role of Finance Secretary.

In September, Bersamin’s name was linked to alleged irregularities in a flood control project after former Public Works Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo claimed there was a 15 percent commitment to the Office of the Executive Secretary from the ₱2.85-billion project, which Bersamin firmly refuted.
