President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to immediately begin rehabilitation of damaged roads and infrastructure following the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Uwan.

During a situation briefing at the PSC Command Operations Center, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon reported that teams are focused on clearing operations across major roads in Central Luzon, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

Government records show that 71 roads remain impassable due to landslides and flooding.

Relief distribution continues in the hardest-hit areas, including Bicol, Quezon, and Camarines Sur, where thousands of families were displaced.

Super Typhoon Uwan left widespread destruction across Luzon, toppling power lines, damaging schools, sweeping away homes, and isolating communities due to landslides and floods. Millions were affected, with at least 1.3 million residents evacuated nationwide.

Marcos emphasized that all agencies must sustain vigilance over weather conditions and ensure the recovery of communities affected not only by Super Typhoon Uwan but also by the earlier Typhoon Tino.
