During his weekly Angelus prayer at St. Peter’s Square, the Pope said he prayed for those who lost their lives, their families, the injured, and those who were displaced by the typhoon.

He also called for an end to conflicts and wars in different parts of the world, urging nations to uphold peace and pursue negotiations instead of violence.

The Pope expressed gratitude to all who continue to work for peace in regions affected by war.

Meanwhile, PAGASA reported that Typhoon Uwan (international name Fung-Wong) weakened after crossing Luzon but still packs maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h and gusts of up to 275 km/h as it moved over La Union early Monday morning.
