Typhoon Tino Strengthens: Signal Warnings Raised Across Visayas and Mindanao

Typhoon Tino has officially intensified into a full-fledged tropical cyclone, prompting elevated storm signals across several regions in the Philippines.

As of the latest advisory, the storm’s center was located approximately 285 kilometers southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Tino now packs maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near its center, with gusts reaching up to 150 km/h and a central pressure of 975 hPa.

The storm is moving west-southwest at a speed of 25 km/h, affecting both Visayas and Mindanao with varying levels of storm signals.

Signal No. 3 has been raised in parts of Eastern Samar, Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Camotes Islands, Bohol, Dinagat Islands, and northern Surigao del Norte including Siargao and Bucas Grande.

Signal No. 2 covers southern Masbate, central Eastern Samar, Biliran, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Guimaras, Capiz, Iloilo, and parts of Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Norte.

Signal No. 1 is in effect for Albay, Sorsogon, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro, Palawan, Northern Samar, Siquijor, Antique, Aklan, and several areas in Mindanao including Misamis Oriental and Zamboanga del Norte.

Authorities continue to monitor Tino’s trajectory and advise residents in affected areas to prepare for heavy rains, strong winds, and possible flooding.
