Army Chief Reaffirms Transparency in Military Procurement

Philippine Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all procurement activities during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Suppliers Forum held at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Speaking as the keynote speaker on October 8, Nafarrete emphasized the importance of maintaining an Army free from corruption, especially at a time when the nation faces widespread concerns over government integrity.

He underscored that every transaction made by the Army reflects public trust, and it is the institution’s duty to ensure that every peso is spent wisely, every project is delivered on time, and every partner upholds ethical standards.

Nafarrete called on Army units and suppliers to embrace upcoming policy changes, stressing that transparent and efficient procurement is essential to the Army’s operational readiness.

He noted that when processes are clear, fast, and accountable, the Army can meet the needs of its soldiers with quality and timeliness.

The two-day forum was part of the Army’s ongoing efforts to align with the Chief’s directive on resource transparency and responsible allocation.
