Malacañang has expressed opposition to the proposal for Constitutional Change pushed by House Minority Leader and 4Ps Representative Marcelino Libanan.

According to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro, what the country needs more urgently is a change in the behavior and values of government officials rather than amendments to the Constitution.

Castro emphasized that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. does not support the call for Constitutional Change.

She stated that revising the Constitution is not the solution, but rather cultivating patriotism and public service among leaders.

Castro made the statement in response to calls from Rep. Libanan and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano to hold snap elections as a way to address the country’s pressing issues.

She added that existing laws can already resolve these problems if government officials would simply follow them.
