The Philippine National Police successfully arrested a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairman in Batac City who was listed as the Top 8 Most Wanted person at the regional level.
Police Lt. Col. Jerome Wangley, chief of police in Batac City, confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as facing charges of sexual assault and rape.
According to Wangley, the arrest was carried out through a warrant issued by the Presiding Judge in connection with the suspect’s criminal case.
The sexual assault charge was granted a recommended bail of ₱200,000, while the rape charge was non-bailable.
Wangley disclosed that the incident occurred in January of this year.
The victim reportedly went to the suspect’s residence where they consumed alcohol, and the assault allegedly took place after both parties became intoxicated.
Wangley added that the suspect did not resist arrest and admitted to committing the offense.
As of this writing, the suspect remains in custody at the Philippine National Police station in Batac City.
