Senate President Pro-Tempore Ping Lacson has formally submitted his resignation as chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, which is currently investigating alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

In a letter addressed to Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Lacson cited the dissatisfaction and allegations from fellow senators regarding the direction of the committee’s inquiry as the reason for his decision.

Lacson revealed that some senators believe the committee is targeting specific members of the Senate while allegedly shielding certain House representatives involved in the controversy.

He firmly denied these claims, asserting that the investigation remains impartial and is guided solely by evidence and truth.

Lacson emphasized that his actions as committee chair were never influenced by political considerations and reiterated that he has no plans to seek any elective position after his term ends in 2031.
