Over 400 Families Evacuated in Isabela as Typhoon Paolo Batters Province

A total of 437 families, or more than 1,300 individuals, have been evacuated in Isabela province due to the onslaught of Typhoon Paolo.

Evacuees came from coastal towns including Dinapigue, Maconacon, and Palanan, as well as the mainland municipality of Echague.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cauayan, Provincial Information Officer Exiquiel Quilang confirmed that evacuation centers across the province have been activated, including the Provincial Multi-purpose Evacuation Center which can accommodate up to 500 individuals.

Quilang assured that prepositioned food packs are ready for distribution to affected families, with an additional 2,000 packs available from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) office if needed.

A composite team of 66 personnel from various agencies under the Isabela Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) has been mobilized to monitor and respond to the needs of evacuees.

The PDRRMC Isabela and its equipment are fully prepared to ensure swift and coordinated disaster response operations.
