DSWD Ready to Assist Over 24,000 Individuals Affected by Typhoon Enteng and Habagat

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has assured that assistance is ready for more than 6,000 families, equivalent to 24,043 individuals, affected by Typhoon Enteng and the southwest monsoon (Habagat).

According to data from the DSWD Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center, the weather disturbances have impacted the Bicol Region, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.

Thousands of families have already evacuated from their homes due to rising water levels caused by heavy rainfall.

At least nine homes have been damaged, with one reported as partially damaged.

In response, the agency has allocated ₱410,000 worth of assistance for the affected families.

Continuous monitoring of areas impacted by Typhoon Enteng and Habagat is being conducted by the DSWD.

Meanwhile, the agency has ₱2.7 million worth of relief resources on standby, including funds and food packs.
