Siphoning operations on the oil cargo of the sunken MT Terra Nova in Manila Bay were temporarily halted today due to the threat posed by Typhoon Enteng.
The Philippine Coast Guard ordered the suspension to prevent risks to the lives of those conducting the siphoning operations.
The contracted salvor team, Harbor Star, promptly complied and ensured that the siphoning lines, containment equipment, and other materials were secured.
