THE Department of Justice (DOJ) has placed businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, actress Gretchen Barretto, retired Lt. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, and more than 50 others under an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) in connection with the case of missing cockfight enthusiasts or sabungeros.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed Friday that all individuals implicated by complainant Julie “Dondon” Patidongan, also known as “Totoy,” were included in the list.

Remulla said that once the DOJ’s preliminary investigation begins, its panel of prosecutors may request a precautionary hold departure order (PHDO) from the courts to bar the respondents from leaving the country until the probe determines probable cause.

He also disclosed that one of Ang’s siblings had already left the Philippines.

Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon earlier announced that prosecutors had completed their evaluation of the complaint and would proceed with the preliminary investigation.

Subpoenas are expected to be issued once case records are transmitted to the DOJ.

Ang, Barretto, and Estomo have all denied involvement in the alleged kidnapping and disappearance of several sabungeros, who were reportedly dumped at Taal Lake.
