The United States government has committed approximately ₱13.8 million ($250,000) in disaster relief funding to support ongoing emergency response efforts in flood-stricken areas across Luzon.

The aid, channeled through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), will help facilitate the distribution of food and other critical assistance to communities severely impacted by consecutive storms and the enhanced southwest monsoon.

The donation was made via the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration to reinforce Philippine government operations.

Target areas include Metro Manila, Northern and Central Luzon, and CALABARZON, where flooding continues to displace thousands of families.

“We are tracking the devastation caused by the storms and floods and are deeply concerned for all those affected,” said U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson.

She added that the U.S. Embassy’s interagency team is working closely with Philippine authorities and the WFP to ensure rapid delivery of aid to vulnerable populations.

The funding comes as disaster response teams continue evacuation, food distribution, and infrastructure restoration in the wake of Severe Tropical Storm Emong and widespread monsoon-driven flooding.
