The Philippine Army concluded a three-week bilateral military training with the Royal Cambodian Army (RCA) on July 19, 2025, held at the RCAF Training Center in Kampong Speu, Cambodia.
The joint exercise involved elite troops from the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) and the First Scout Ranger Regiment of the Philippine Army, alongside RCA units, with a focus on urban infantry operations and combat tracking.
Combat Engineer teams from both armies also participated in expert-level exchanges on Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) operations.
Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido, in his closing ceremony remarks, emphasized the importance of joint training in building operational competencies and mutual understanding.
“No nation stands alone in the pursuit of peace and security,” said Galido. “Through this joint training, the Philippines and Cambodia have taken meaningful steps toward deeper regional cooperation and enhanced interoperability—cornerstones of a stable and secure Southeast Asia.”

Galido praised the Royal Cambodian Army’s professionalism and discipline, noting that sustained military-to-military partnerships are key to strengthening ASEAN solidarity.
The bilateral training supports the Philippine Army’s strategic goals in advancing regional defense cooperation, peace, and security in Southeast Asia.
