Monsoon Forces Class Cancellations in Several Provinces on July 21

Several local governments across the Philippines have announced class suspensions for Monday, July 21, 2025, in response to continuous bad weather brought by the southwest monsoon or Habagat.

According to the State Weather Bureau, inclement weather is expected to persist into July 21 due to the intensified monsoon, affecting various parts of the country with heavy rainfall.

The following areas have implemented class cancellations across different educational levels to ensure public safety and reduce risks from flash flooding and landslides.

In Benguet, face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school are suspended in Atok and Kibungan.

Bulacan announced no face-to-face classes at all levels—both public and private schools—in Balagtas, Bocaue, Calumpit, Guiginto, Meycauayan, and San Jose del Monte, while Bulakan and Malolos suspended all levels completely.

Pampanga issued suspensions in Masantol (July 21 and 22), San Simon, and Sto. Tomas, affecting students from daycare to senior high school.

Pangasinan’s Basista and Rosales declared class suspensions up to senior high school; Rosales also joined the advisory for public and private institutions.

In Bataan, Limay declared a suspension for all schools, while Oton, Iloilo also halted school operations.

Additional locations with targeted face-to-face class suspensions include Atok (Benguet), Basista (Pangasinan), Sto. Tomas (Pampanga), Hagonoy, and San Miguel (Bulacan).

The public is advised to monitor local advisories and refresh news sources for updates as weather conditions evolve.
