The bones were among 45 specimens initially discovered during operations by the Philippine Coast Guard Southern Tagalog.

At present, investigators have yet to confirm if the three bones are of human origin, pending further forensic analysis.

PNPFG clarified that the three under examination are separate from the six bones earlier reported as possibly human.

Meanwhile, the second and third sacks recovered from the lake were found to contain only debris, while the last two sacks yielded 46 bone fragments.

From the final two sacks, six bones have been flagged as potentially human remains.

The bone fragments are still undergoing drying procedures after being submerged in water for nearly four years.

PNPFG stressed that the process should not be rushed to preserve the integrity of the bones during forensic testing.
