Rapper and hype man Fatman Scoop has died after collapsing on stage.
Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett confirmed the news after the 56-year-old rapper was rushed to the hospital.

The incident occurred while the rapper was performing at Hamden Town Center Park when he suddenly lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Fatman Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman, gained fame with his 1999 hit “Be Faithful,” which topped the Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.
He also collaborated with artists such as Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott, and many others.
