A 54-year-old man, identified as Isaac Casay, also known as “Bigso,” was found dead after being shot multiple times in Barangay Tabtabagan, Banna. Casay, a resident of Barangay Poblacion 1, Adams, was currently residing in Barangay Sto. Niño, Nueva Era.
According to P/Cpt. Ashley Cacayorin of the Philippine National Police in Banna, they received a report around 2:20 PM about an individual lying on the road in Barangay Tabtabagan. Initially, they believed it was an accident.
Cacayorin stated that the exact number of bullets that hit the victim is still uncertain but confirmed that Casay had multiple gunshot wounds, especially to the head.
Due to the nature of the wounds, Cacayorin believes that multiple suspects were involved in the shooting as three different types of firearms were used: a caliber .45, a caliber 9mm, and an M16 rifle.
Police recovered one spent M16 shell casing, 11 spent caliber .45 shells, and nine spent caliber 9mm shells from the crime scene.
They also recovered a black TMX 125 motorcycle and a caliber .45 pistol with seven rounds from the victim.
Cacayorin added that there were no indications that the victim fought back.
Authorities are now investigating the possibility of a connection between this incident and previous shooting cases in the province.
The authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage along the victim’s route to identify potential suspects in the incident.
