The Department of Justice (DOJ) has confirmed its coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) in investigating the long-standing cases of missing cockfighting enthusiasts.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla revealed that an arrangement is in place with PNP Chief General Nicolas Torre III to pursue the truth behind the abductions and disappearances.

Remulla stated that discussions with the PNP leadership have focused on investigating revelations made by a witness known by the alias “Totoy.”

Totoy recently surfaced, claiming that the missing sabungeros—unaccounted for over the past four years—were allegedly killed and buried in Taal Lake.

Secretary Remulla confirmed he had already spoken with the witness before finalizing the arrangement with General Torre.

The DOJ is now considering designating Totoy as a state witness to support the resolution of the high-profile disappearances.

Remulla assured the public that the DOJ is actively processing all information gathered, particularly those disclosed by Totoy.

As of now, the 34 missing cockfighting enthusiasts remain unlocated, years after their disappearance was first reported.
