Motorcyclist Killed, Passenger Injured in Cagayan Crash

A motorcycle rider was killed on impact while his passenger was injured after they crashed into a roadside barricade in Barangay Barancuag, Tuao, Cagayan.

The deceased rider, identified as 19-year-old Mark Carlo Inovena, and his 20-year-old passenger, Ronald Pamittan, both residents of Barangay Bagumbayan, were reportedly under the influence of alcohol and were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident.

According to PMAJ Jhun Jhun Balisi, chief of the PNP-Tuao, the two were on their way home when Inovena lost control of the motorcycle on a curve, causing them to collide with the concrete barricade.

The force of the impact caused both riders and the motorcycle to be thrown into a five-meter-deep rice field. Inovena sustained fatal injuries, while Pamittan suffered a fractured hand and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
