Two Dead, Nearly 20 Injured in Van-Multicab Collision in Misamis Oriental

Two MORESCO 2 workers died after their multicab collided with a van in Barangay Buko, Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental on the afternoon of June 12, 2025.

Kinoguitan Police Station commander Capt. Eugene Zambrano identified the fatalities as Joni Tedlos, a resident of Barangay Kibaghot, Laguindingan, and Joselito Baclayon from Barangay Lagtang, Alubijid.

According to the investigation, the victims were traveling toward Cagayan de Oro when they encountered a van coming from Iligan City, resulting in the deadly crash.

Due to the force of impact, the multicab was thrown off the road, causing several passengers to fall into an ongoing drainage construction site.

Nearly 20 injured passengers were rushed to different hospitals for medical treatment.

Authorities are conducting a deeper investigation into the incident.
