The suspension order came after Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon instructed action following a viral video showing GV Florida Transport buses racing on highways.

The incident occurred on the night of June 8 along Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya, and Cordon, Isabela.

Additionally, the licenses of the drivers involved in the viral footage have been suspended for 90 days.

The LTFRB also mandated a compulsory drug test for all GV Florida Transport drivers.

Despite issuing a public apology, GV Florida Transport’s statement was rejected by the DOTr.

In its official statement, the company assured that passenger safety remains its priority and that an internal investigation is ongoing regarding the involved drivers.

The LTFRB and Land Transportation Office (LTO) have scheduled hearings on June 13 and June 25 to identify the drivers who engaged in reckless driving.

GV Florida Transport has been a well-known bus company serving multiple routes in the Philippines.

The company has faced scrutiny in the past over road safety issues, with previous incidents involving reckless driving and accidents.

The recent viral video has reignited concerns about public transport safety and the accountability of bus operators in ensuring responsible driving.

Authorities have consistently warned transport companies against dangerous driving practices, emphasizing strict compliance with regulations to prevent road accidents.
