Farmer Attacked by Relatives in Nueva Vizcaya, Two Suspects Arrested

A 42-year-old farmer was seriously injured after being attacked with a machete by two male relatives in Barangay Ibung, Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya.

Authorities identified the victim as Alyas Unyor, a married resident of the area.

Police investigations revealed that the attack stemmed from a long-standing dispute between the suspects and the victim.

The victim was cooking outside his home when the suspects arrived and confronted him.

A heated argument ensued, during which one of the suspects grabbed a machete from a nearby table.

A witness reported seeing the victim run inside his house, pursued by the suspects carrying the weapon.

One suspect allegedly restrained the victim, while the other repeatedly struck him with the machete.

The suspects later rushed themselves to the hospital due to injuries sustained during the altercation, while the victim was also taken for medical treatment.

Following a police follow-up operation, both suspects were arrested and charged with frustrated murder.
