Davao del Sur Enforces Mandatory Face Masks Amid Mpox Threat

Davao del Sur has issued a new executive order mandating the wearing of face masks across the province to prevent the potential spread of Monkeypox (Mpox).

The directive was officially implemented today following Executive Order No. 20, Series of 2025, issued by Governor Yvonne Cagas, calling for strict adherence to health protocols in light of the Mpox threat.

Under the order, all residents, employees, and visitors in both public and private sectors must wear face masks, especially in public areas such as churches, markets, terminals, and government offices.

The provincial government also assured that hospitals and rural health units (RHUs) are prepared to accommodate and respond to any confirmed Mpox cases in the region.

Authorities are urging the public to cooperate, emphasizing that the measure is for the collective safety and welfare of the community.
