AFP Chief Brawner Denies Coup Rumors, Affirms Military Loyalty and Discipline

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. firmly denied ongoing coup rumors, assuring the public that no such plot exists within the military under his leadership.

Brawner emphasized that the AFP’s chain of command remains loyal to the Constitution and that no internal uprising would ever be tolerated.

He underscored the importance of professionalism within the military ranks, citing continuous reforms and disciplinary measures being implemented in the institution.

The general reaffirmed his trust in his personnel, highlighting their integrity, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to professional conduct.

Brawner also warned against the spread of misinformation, which he said could incite unrest and undermine institutions tasked with protecting the Filipino people.

Previously, Brawner urged the public to exercise caution in discussing sensitive topics, particularly those involving national security.
