The government of New Zealand is set to hold a 9-day New Zealand education roadshow in the Philippines from May 30 to June 7 to encourage Filipino students to pursue studies in their country.
According to Education New Zealand (ENZ), the initiative will be conducted in collaboration with 10 New Zealand universities and local education agents to showcase available programs, especially for senior high school and undergraduate students.
In addition to academic offerings, ENZ will highlight vocational and applied learning tracks that feature internships, work placements, and industry projects aimed at demonstrating the practical benefits of studying in New Zealand.
One of the key advantages promoted by ENZ includes post-study work opportunities for international students, providing a gateway to global experience.
New Zealand Ambassador to the Philippines Catherine McIntosh announced that the number of Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships for Filipinos will increase from 16 to 44 slots starting in 2026.
In 2019, a total of 2,439 Filipino students were enrolled in New Zealand, while in 2024, the number reached 1,983, with most pursuing degrees in business, nursing, information technology, and agriculture.
This New Zealand education roadshow aims to strengthen educational ties and open more opportunities for Filipino learners abroad.
