The Ministry of Health in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM) has confirmed its first two cases of Mpox in the region—a 59-year-old man from Bulalo, Sultan Kudarat, and a 28-year-old woman from Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.

Both patients are currently isolated and in stable condition, according to Health Minister Dr. Kadil Sinolinding Jr.

To prevent the spread of the virus, the MOH has intensified surveillance measures, public information campaigns, and inter-agency coordination.

Six additional individuals are under strict monitoring, including three from Cotabato City and one each from Sultan Kudarat, Parang, and Datu Montawal.

A 21-day quarantine period is being enforced, with daily health checks and hospitals preparing to accommodate any potential new cases.

The Ministry of Health urges the public to avoid direct skin contact, wear face masks, maintain hygiene, and follow all health protocols and official guidance.
