He sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and died two hours after the shooting.

Police Senior Master Sergeant Israel Villela of the Tanza Police said they believe the attack was premeditated, as the suspects had been following the victim from his home to the barangay hall.

When the victim’s vehicle stopped, his partner and four children exited the car unharmed, fortunately avoiding injury.

According to Villela, the victim’s family claimed they were unaware of any known enemies, though Aron was widely rumored to be a strong candidate for the next barangay captain.

Police are considering multiple angles, including Aron’s role as a barangay councilor, his business dealings, and a recent traffic altercation he was involved in.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the ambush.
