Couple Found Dead Inside Davao Boarding House with Gunshot Wounds to the Head

A couple was discovered dead with gunshot wounds to the head inside a boarding house on Del Pilar Street, Jerome Extension, Barangay R. Castillo, Agdao District in Davao City early morning.

According to police reports, the female victim, identified only as “Jelai,” was between 23 and 30 years old, single, and worked as a security guard at a BPO company, originally from Purok Mabuhay, Barangay Mabini, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

The male victim has not yet been identified, as authorities found no identification on his body, but he is estimated to be around 30 years old and has a tattoo on his chest.

Both victims had gunshot wounds to the head, with the man’s body reportedly found lying on top of the woman’s.

Initial police investigation, based on CCTV footage, showed that Jelai entered the boarding house shortly after 3:00 a.m., followed minutes later by a man, before a gunshot was heard at 3:41 a.m.

Authorities arrived to find the two victims lifeless, with the male lying atop the female.

Recovered from the crime scene were a 9mm pistol, two empty shells, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle believed to be used by the male victim.

The police confirmed the two were in an on-and-off romantic relationship, which may be relevant to the incident.

Investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind their deaths.
