The Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 118 has issued an arrest warrant against former presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque, Chinese national Cassandra Lie Ong, and nine others in connection with a qualified human trafficking case.
The warrant stems from charges filed by the government involving the alleged illegal operations of Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga, which was raided by authorities through a joint operation by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).
The case carries no recommended bail, meaning Roque and Ong could be held without temporary liberty once arrested.
As of this publication, neither Roque nor Ong’s camp has released an official statement regarding the arrest order.
According to recent reports, Roque is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, where he has reportedly applied for political asylum, while Ong remains detained in the Philippines.
Roque previously stated that he was willing to face the charges in the country should an arrest warrant be formally issued.
