The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced that government employees will start receiving their mid-year bonus, equivalent to one month’s basic salary, on Thursday, May 15.
In a statement, the DBM clarified that both civilian and military personnel are eligible for the bonus, provided they have rendered at least four months of service from July 1, 2024, to May 15, 2025.
Eligible personnel must also have received at least a satisfactory performance rating and be in government service as of May 15.
The total fund allocated for the mid-year bonus amounts to ₱63.695 billion, with ₱47.587 billion earmarked for civilian employees and ₱16.108 billion for military and uniformed personnel.
Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman urged agency heads to ensure the prompt release of the bonuses to qualified employees.
Earlier this year, Pangandaman confirmed that the DBM had already released the funds to implementing agencies as early as January 2025 to facilitate early disbursement.
The mid-year bonus forms part of the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce and acknowledging their contribution to public service.
