Several areas in the Philippines will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the prevailing effects of easterlies, according to the state weather bureau.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental.

Moderate to heavy rains in these areas may result in possible flooding, prompting residents to stay alert for weather advisories.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also attributed to the presence of easterlies.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are expected throughout the archipelago.

As of 2:00 AM, PAGASA confirmed that no low-pressure area is currently being monitored that could develop into a tropical cyclone.
