The death toll has risen to six as Typhoon Shanshan continues to wreak havoc in northeastern Japan. According to Bombo International News Correspondent Hannah Galvez, several areas in Japan are still experiencing heavy rainfall due to the ongoing storm, which is steadily moving toward Northern Japan.

The typhoon has claimed six lives and left around 100 people injured across various parts of the country. As the storm’s impact widens, many schools have canceled classes, and significant disruptions have been reported.

The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a Level 4 alert for major rivers in the Meguro, Nogawa, and Sengawa regions. Flash floods and landslides have caused extensive damage to infrastructure, while roads, subways, and parking lots have been flooded.

Residents in coastal areas have been evacuated to higher ground as a precaution. Additionally, widespread power outages have led to the spoilage of food stocks, with many residents resorting to panic buying.

Although Typhoon Shanshan is gradually weakening and slowing down, its effects are expected to persist until Monday.
