Balancing Public Service and Motherhood: A Single Mother’s Journey

A single mother’s public service journey was shared by SFO2 Maricar Castillo this Mother’s Day, highlighting her dedication as both a public servant and a mother.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cauayan, Castillo shared that as a firefighter and single mother, she often has to be away from her son due to her demanding job.

She admitted that it is difficult to balance motherhood and work, especially as her son, who is now married and has his own family, continues to live his life.

Despite the challenges, Castillo expressed that she never feels alone in her struggles, thanks to the unwavering support from her family and colleagues.

She strives to divide her time between work and family, despite the exhaustion she sometimes feels, and continues to carry out her sworn duties.

Even amid the daily trials of life, Castillo draws strength from her son, and her work remains a constant source of motivation.
